About the Research Library

The Institute for Economic Advancement (IEA) Research Library is a non-lending collection with the primary purpose of serving the information needs of IEA researchers, UALR faculty and students, state agencies, the business community and the general public. The collection covers specialized areas such as agriculture, banking, census data, economics, education, finance, government, health, industry, labor, management and taxation.

The library specializes in information pertaining to Arkansas, and holds extensive statistical data series.  It also houses IEA staff’s research publications, spanning back to 1955.  The library also serves as a depository for the Arkansas State Data Center and print materials from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The library provides electronic access to a number of research databases, including Academic Search Complete, Business Source Complete, JSTOR Arts & Sciences Collections and LexisNexis Academic.  Library users can search e-journals, peer-reviewed articles and online newspapers for information on a broad range of topics.
